This book deals with Willie "Will" Nelson Cash.(What a great idea Marin had for the mother of these guys to name them after country singers, I love it!!) Well, when the book starts out Will finds out he is a father of a 14 yr. old, Ryan, who he thought the mother Marsha had aborted all those years ago.(Marsha had actually moved away and had the baby on her own). Will is not happy that his brother Buck who had found out about Ryan over a year ago and did not tell him! They get in a fight and Buck leaves town. In the meantime Marsha and Ryan come back to town to spend the summer with her sick dad and mom.To find out how Will and Marsha reconnect and Will gets to know his son read the book, you will not be disappointed. We also find out more about other characters mentioned in the other Cash Brothers series of books that are out already. Check them out too!!It's great to be able to read about a close family who are there for each other!!Also I give Marin credit for writing about dyslexia and how some people deal with it! This contemporary romance is set in Arizona and introduces us to Willie Nelson Cash and Marsha Bugler who knew each other briefly in high school, but haven't seen or had contact in over 14 years. Sparks are certainly about to fly.Marsha received a prestigious scholarship to a college in California and left Arizona right after her high school graduation. After hearing that her father has elected to stop treatments for his prostate cancer she has decided to come home for the summer to spend time with her family. She usually comes home for two weeks, but this year she will stay for 12 weeks. Secrets having a way of coming out and sometimes no one has a way of stopping them. When Marsha left home she had a secret buried in her heart and hasn't shared it with anyone, but knows when she returns home it's time she tells it.During high school she had a crush on Willie Cash, a well known local bad boy. Being the daughter of a preacher she knows that their going to the prom will shock quiet a few people. As things progress that night she gives into her one desire of being with Willie, unfortunately there are consequences. When she tells him she's pregnant he's not ready to be a father and wants her to have an abortion, but with her religious background she finds herself unable to do this so instead she moves to California. She has never revealed the name of the father of her child and everyone assumes that Ryan's father is from California. Ryan is now 14 and with every year that passes the resemblance to his father only increases. Now that she is coming home for the summer she knows that everyone will instantly recognize who the father is so she must reveal her secret.Willie Cash works in construction at the family business. He and his siblings were raised by their grandmother Ada after his mother proved to be unfit and became the talk of the town for her wild ways. I fell in love with this former bad boy and started cheering for him almost immediately. It seems he's almost like a Timex, he takes a licking but keeps on ticking. When confronted with the fact he has a 14 year old son the emotions he goes through, from guilt to anger to shame, just grabs you by the heart. Willie wants to step up an be a father to his son, but there are obstacles he must overcome.Can Marsha help Willie and Ryan forge a father son relationship or will the obstacles be too great Can Willie forgive Marsha for not telling him about his son for 14 years This is a wonderful story and I would recommend it to anyone who loves a good romance.1 of 1 people found the following review helpful.A Cash Brother you don't won't to missBy Sabrina Robert15 years after the prom Willie Nelson Cash finds out he has a 14 year old son. When he meets his son he discovers they have nothing in common and is afraid his son will never like him and think of him as a failure.Marsha Bugler is the Preacher's daughter. She got pregnant on prom night then moved to California. Marsha managed to go to college on scholarships and became a teacher. When she decides to return home due to her father's failing health she sends Will a message telling him he's a father.I read the book in one evening. It was hard reading the tug of war between Will and his son Ryan. Ryan is the true hero in this book, for a fourteen year he's ver deceptive and helps Will find his way.Be prepared for the emotional strain between all the characters. You will realize that you just have to keep reading to find out what happens.Marin really poured her heart into this Cash Brothers series and you will love having it on your bookshelf.See all 38 customer reviews...
