The second things were: right speech right action; meaning that we not just only need to take action but that we need to clarify first what the RIGHT action is and we also need to monitor our language. This book is very short and brief, but this is a better starter for me to understand this religion.The book starts off with the story of ‘who is the Buddha” He was a Shakyan prince, who later left all his luxuries and founded Buddhism. I’ve read a much more detailed (over-detailed) script with pali words here and there, that still has my head in jumbles. I prefer this short explanation. For someone who came into the book knowing very little about the religion, I learned the basics from this book in an easy to understand format.I am not actually a Buddhist myself, but people of any religious belief or none at all can take something useful about of this book, and the teachings of Buddha. He was certainly an enlightened man, and by applying the things that he taught you can lead a more fulfilling existence.I am going to recommend this book to other people that I know, particularly those who can benefit from applying the teachings of peace and tranquility to their own lives.See all 16 customer reviews...
